Design and Technology Intent

At Red Hill, Design and Technology aims to be an inspiring, rigorous and practical subject. Our design and technology curriculum is intended to:

• Give pupils the opportunity to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts in their world.
• Encourage the use of creativity and imagination throughout the design and technology processes.
• Enable children to acquire a broad range of subject knowledge and draw on disciplines such as mathematics, science, engineering, computing and art.
• Equip children with the relevant, every day life skills that they will need by the end of year 6, e.g the principles of nutrition
