Welcome to Year 6

Welcome back everyone after what we hope has been a fantastic Christmas and New Year. Bring your coats and scarves – the temperature has dropped and the frosty mornings have appeared. We are looking forward to getting back into routine in Year 6. Please remember that PE is now on Tuesdays and Thursdays (Thursdays requiring outdoor kit - including warm and waterproof layers). Booster sessions will commence the week beginning Monday 12th Januray. 

Curriculum  Spring 

Maths: In Maths, we will be looking at measurement and further work on fractions, decimals and percentages 

English: We will be starting to look at formal letters of apology based on the perspective of 'The Big Bad Wolf'. 

RE: In RE, we will be looking at the religion of Hinduism. 

Art -  We will be looking at pointilism and how we can create our own 'Pop Art' style pieces. 

History -  in History, we will be looking at how Early Islamic civilisation shaped the world that we live in today. 

PE: In PE, we will be focusing on Dodgeball and Hockey. Please note PE will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This year, we are lucky to be having AJB sports facilitate one of these sessions.

 Parent Showcase - History - We had great fun in our topic of history. We invited parents to attend our 'Showcase' Where we got to show our skills and understanding of World War Two.
