Summer term 1

Summer is here! We can't wait for the weather to heat up and lots of fun summer activities this term.

Below, you will find an overview of the learning that will take place this half-term. These overviews are designed to give you a clear picture of the skills and knowledge your child will be developing, as well as the texts and questions that will inspire their learning this term.

Focus 1: Letter of complaint: There's a lion in my cornflakes

Purpose: To write a letter of complaint

Focus 2: Diary entry - Escape from Pompeii

Purpose: To write a diary entry detailing the events of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.

 

Maths - Money, Fractions and Time

Religious Education - How do festivals and family life show what matters to Jewish people?

History:  Romans: How did Romans keep control of Britain?

Science - Forces and magnets: What are different forces and how do magnets work?

Further information

 PE is on Wednesday (outside) and Thursday (inside). Please send your child to school in the appropriate kit.

Water bottles need to be brought into school daily as well as a healthy snack for morning break. 

Please ensure that all your child's belongings are labelled as this helps for easier identification if they are lost. 

Please ensure your child has a reading book in school every day along with their yellow reading record.
