In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.

The Key Values are:

• democracy
• rule of law
• individual liberty
• mutual respect
• tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

Each week, a different British Value is discussed in our Picture News collective worship.

During the money collective worship, we linked the theme to the teachings of Jesus. "If I give all I possess to the poor and give
over my body to hardship that I may boast,but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1 Corinthians 13:3-7

Celebrations of the King's Coronation

We had a glorious afternoon celebrating the King's Coronation, despite the weather trying to rain it off! The children collectively created a portrait of King Charles III and all sang a Coronation song as well as the National Anthem, finished it off with a family picnic.
